As spring arrives, it’s the perfect time to detox. The warmer weather brings renewal to nature, so why not renew yourself, as well? After all, we are an integral part of nature!

Whether you’re sweating it out in a sauna for a physiological detox or decluttering your household, getting rid of the old and the not needed makes room for a new, fresh beginning. Exactly what the spring season ordered!

Organize Your Closet – the Perfect Closet!

Once the closet is organized, you might find that you will not have to toss, give away or sell your old clothes.

Here’s an interesting bit of information. Did you know that moths are actually attracted to the leftover oils and particles our bodies leave on our clothes? They munch on the oils and debris, which then leaves those holes! When you’re working on your closet, make sure to clean your clothes before you store them. You’ll feel good knowing that they’ll look just as great as they do now when you’re ready to wear them again.

Purge Your Pantry, Fridge and Freezer

Purging your pantry and fridge can be a difficult task. It’s best to break this chore into separate projects.

For example, take everything out of the pantry, sort and organize. Repeat the same with the fridge and the freezer. Pay attention to the expiration date, and check items that haven’t passed the date but have been opened and toss.

Do a Detox

For many of us, the winter months mean holidays and overindulging, comfort eating, covering up with multiple layers, being exhausted by colds and flu, and staying inside to avoid the frigid weather. Now as it is warmer outside, let’s get rid of the winter “accumulation”.

Some simple detox tips include:

  1. Sticking to a detox diet
  2. Engaging in some sort of physical activity that you enjoy
  3. Staying well hydrated
  4. Finding time to sweat in a sauna

Create a healthy detox diet with all the fresh spring vegetables that become available in the spring. Find some time to sweat by engaging in outdoor activities.

Taking relaxing sauna sessions will have you detoxing on a whole new level!

MAKE TIME FOR MIND AND SOUL

Getting rid of excess ‘stuff’ can do more than just make your physical space cleaner. By releasing old clutter, your mind and emotions get a lift too, creating more ‘breathing room’ for you to relax.

Setting time aside to take care of your emotional wellbeing is just as important as taking care of your physical body. Thankfully, spring brings warmer, longer and sunnier days that lead to an increased sense of happiness in us. Although the burst of Vitamin D feels wonderful, life can still become stressful that is easy to feel even if the sun is shining.

Take time for yourself this spring and think about ways to detox/eliminate the stresses in your life. Take a leisurely stroll in the park, meditate in the ozone sauna and try aromatherapy when in the sauna session. Finally, be conscious of your breathing. Is your breathing shallow or are you taking long relaxing breaths?

This is a reminder that if you were a patient of Dr Jaconello and didn’t pick up your paper medical chart yet and wish to do so, we urge you to call the clinic to get it. Otherwise, charts will be destroyed in July 2019.

Do NOT WAIT till last minute, let us know if you would like your chart. There is a cost of $35.00 plus HST if you pick up your file at the office and a fee of $65.00 plus HST if it is mailed to you.
